Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery – Dripping Springs, TX

The Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery should be a Texas landmark. Deep Eddy makes my absolute favorite flavored vodka – the Deep Eddy Ruby Red Grapefruit! Living in Austin, the distillery is just a quick 45min drive. The tasting room has a great open area to hang out, as well as a spacious outside seating area that you can drink, eat, and enjoy the view with friends. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! The tasting room also has a bar with two bartenders slinging Deep Eddy cocktails. First, you choose your souvenir glass – a highball or mason jar, then you choose from the list of cocktails. If you return for another drink, you can get another glass, or refill your old glass for a discount. They do occasionally have frozen drinks, which are absolutely delicious since they are all made with fresh fruit. If any are available, it’s a must try.

We visited the distillery one year a month before Deep Eddy Peach was to be released and we were able to “try and buy” one month in advance of the release (limited to 2 bottles purchase per person). The two recommended drinks featuring Peach were great. A Peach Tea and a Peach spritzer – both refreshing and just plain delicious. We each tried both and left with two bottles of Peach under our arms.

Look for some Deep Eddy Vodka-based drinks in my Cocktail Recipes. Some of them include Ruby Red Cosmopolitan and the Eddy Palmer! Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery and Tasting Room is definitely a place to visit if you have never been, and a place to return to if you haven’t been in more than a year. As of the date of this post, Deep Eddy just recently released Deep Eddy Orange – I’ll have to go check it out soon. See you there!
