The Restaurant Reviews section of Nosh With David talks about my best and most personal experiences “Noshing Out.” Come, relax, grab some coffee, tea, or your favorite drink of choice and read about some of my experiences at restaurants all over the world!
They all provide restaurant reviews, from industry experts to food journalists to your next door neighbor. However, none of them have the single most important trait that I look for in a review. ME. I am not saying that my reviews are superior in any way, shape, or form; they are actually more than likely to be journalistically inferior to most. But, after decades of eating, for both survival and pleasure, I believe that only I know what I like and dislike. So, I decided to put my best dining experiences on ‘paper’ as a record for myself and anyone else that would like to read them. Since they are of my best experiences, I will not be writing any negative reviews, and most likely very few, if any, neutral reviews.
As much as I love sharing my experiences on Yelp and Tripadvisor and rating them on a scale of one to five, I do not have such ‘ratings’ on my reviews here on Nosh With David. It would be difficult for me to add an accurate rating to a total experience for me. I noticed that while writing for Yelp, the rating, and how I would score one review over another, became a fixation for me and took away from being able to convey how an experience made me feel.
My reviews here reflect my personal experience at the restaurant in its entirety. Some of my reviews have been written after several visits with some being after a year’s worth of visits. Food and the family and friends you enjoy it with are as much a part of my experience as is the quality of service and cuisine. Every review I write reflects a bit of my personality and talks about my experience as a whole and how this experience has become a part of who I am now. As with all things in life, try something new three times before deciding if you like or dislike it.
